LAHORE/LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Saturday resolved to contest elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) vigorously. It has been decided by the PML-N that elections of National Assembly and two provinces will be held on time.

It was decided in a session chaired by Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif. PML-N Quaid and former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif and other senior leaders attended the session.

The session also underscored that elections would be held on time. Sources said that Nawaz Nawaz directed the party leadership to start preparations for the elections and inform the masses of political and economic failures of the PTI’s tenure. He said, “We could not pin good hopes on PTI Chief Imran Khan”. Nawaz Sharif has directed the party leaders to move forward with full vigor, confidence, preparation and force, adding that the preparations of the elections should be made in Punjab.

On the other hand, Nawaz Sharif also advised the PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif to return to the country this month. It was opined in the meeting that the members of the parliament were and are with Nawaz Sharif and no one would like to ride the sinking plane of PTI. Nawaz Sharif has directed the party to take part in the elections enthusiastically. Nawaz Sharif said that with the blessings of Almighty Allah, the PML-N will succeed in the elections. Nawaz Sharif has also directed PM Shehbaz Sharif to form parliamentary board.

Nawaz Sharif has directed the party leadership to prepare itself for the election and should also activate the workers for this purpose. During the meeting, PM Shehbaz Sharif said that he will the residence of former president Asif Ali Zardari for meeting him today (Sunday). He said that Imran Khan is trying to blackmail the country and nation, adding that the nation has rejected Imran Khan. He said that Imran Khan is responsible for the economic condition of the country. He said that the candidates should participate in the elections vigorously, adding that Maryam Nawaz will be in Pakistan during the current month.
