Fazal-e-Rabbi disappearance case: SC rejects Defence Ministry’s reply

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court (SC) of Pakistan, Tuesday, rejected three-line reply of Ministry of Defence about disappearance of Fazal-e-Rabbi from Swat and sought explanation from Director Legal group captain of the ministry, Muhammad Irfan.

Two member bench of apex court headed by Justice Nasir-ul-Malk resumed hearings of sou moto taken on the request of Fazal-e-Rabbi’s father named, Khanzada request on Tuesday.

During the hearings, Additional Attorney General (AG), Tariq Khokhar informed the court that Muhammad Irfan sent written directions to him that court should be informed that missing persons is not in the custody of Military Intelligence (MI) and Army.

On this, the court expressed annoyance and said that the affidavit should be presented before court about authenticity of that report and the court should be informed that Muhammad Irfan wrote the letter on whose directions.

Khanzada, father of missing Fazal-e-Rabbi also informed the court that his son was seen in interment centre of Malakand and he is in the Shingo Tai village’s interment centre now, he added.

Additional AG said that Shingo Tai village was captured by terrorists and Army cleared it from terrorists then Identity Card of Rabbi was found from that building where terrorists were living.

The court ordered the Additional Attorney General that information should be gathered in this regard and submitted before court before January 07, 2014.
