ISLAMABAD: Private TV channels who were deprived of covering the proceedings of Full Court Reference have submitted their replies before Additional Registrar (AR) of Supreme Court (SC) regarding the issue.

On Tuesday, SC reporters from different private TV channels submitted their replies before AR Mohammad Ali who was appointed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tassaduq Hussain Jillani to inquire the matter after taking Sue Motto on issue.

Reporters stated in their answers that, when footage of Full Court Reference (FCR) was being telecasted on a private TV Channel, administration of their channels also asked them that why they have not arranged the footage.

On this, reporters contacted registrar SC Dr. Faqeer Hussain, Public Relations Officer (PRO) SC Shahid Kombio and secretary of former Chief Justice (CJ) in regard to get footage.

As per reply of reporters, Secretary CJ replied that GEO TV has the footage and it could be obtained from it, while Registrar and PRO said that no one was given the permission to take the footage of FCR.

Reporters raised the questions that if no one was permitted to make footage then who made the footage of the reference and how it reached to a private TV channel?

They said, “We have no differences with any TV channel we are only annoyed on discriminatory behavior with us.”

They said, “If no one was allowed to cover the proceedings then one specific TV channel should not had been given the permission also, because our TV channels telecasted the footage by cutting it from a private TV channel.”

Reporters stated , reality is that other private TV channels still do not have that footage so this matter should be investigate and responsible should be identified.

Reporters of some TV channels did not submit their replies, while Additional Registrar directed them to submit their answers till Thursday.

After this, Additional Registrar Mohammad Ali adjourned the hearing of inquiry till Thursday 11: 00 am.
