Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar elected Senator on technocrat seat from Islamabad Federal Capital Territory

ISLAMABAD:Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Rana Mahmoodul Hassan Khan of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) have been elected Senators on Islamabad Federal Capital Territory seats.On technocrat seat, Mohammad Ishaq Dar secured 222 votes while Raja Ansar Mahmood of Sunni Ittehad Council got 81 votes.On general seat, Rana Mahmoodul Hassan won with 224 votes while his rival candidate Farzand Hussain Shah of Sunni Ittehad Council could get 79 votes.Meanwhile Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif cast his vote on Tuesday in the Senate election held at the Parliament House.Pakistan Muslim League Qyaud and former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Chairman PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Opposition Leader in National Assembly Omar Ayub Khan, Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and Deputy Speaker Syed Ghulam Mustafa Shah also cast their votes.
