Four kids among 11 injured in gas related blasts in Qalat, Quetta

QUETTA: Eleven people have been injured including four kids in two seperate gas related blasts in Qalat and Quetta.

A gas leakage explosion injured eight persons including four children in a house in Sorab area off Qalat who were immediately shifted to local hospital for treatment where they were reported to be in stable condition. The blast partially damaged the roof of the house.

According to local sources, the family members tried to light the gas heater that did not function due to gas loadshedding. They forgot to turn the heater off. Gas filled the room and explosion occurred in the early morning injuring Sania, Tania, Saqib, Rizwan Ghaffar and Bilal.

In another incident, three persons were injured in gas leakage blast in Quetta’s suburban area Dasht Matora. According to hospital sources, gas filled the room at night and an explosion took place as soon as a match was lit in the morning.

The three persons who injured in the incident included Chatta Khan, Jan Muhammad, Haji Abdul Hakeem and others who were immediately rushed to Civil Hospital who were later shifted to Burn Ward of Combined Military Hospital (CMH) Quetta where two of them were reportedly in critical condition.
