KUALA LUMPUR: Police have arrested four Pakistani men suspected to have been involved in the abduction of a school senior assistant here on Nov 17.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Datuk Ku Chin Wah said the suspects, aged between 30 and 40, were arrested in separate raids on two houses in Jalan Maarof, Bangsar, and Jalan Ketumbar, Cheras Utama, Cheras, here the other day.

He said police arrested two suspects in the raid on the house in Bangsar at 3.20 pm and caught the others in Jalan Ketumbar at 9.40 pm.

“All four did not have permanent jobs and had expired social visit passes,” he told a news conference here.

Ku said the victim, in his 40s, was kidnapped on the morning of Nov 17 when he went to meet the suspects at a vacant house in Cheras.

“The victim came to know the suspects through Facebook and they tricked him into meeting them at a vacant house in Cheras before confining him and demanding a ransom of RM5,000,” said Ku.

The victim’s family paid the money on the same day that he was kidnapped and he was released the following day, he said.

Ku said the suspects, who were believed to be involved in several other kidnapping cases, were being remanded from Tuesday until Dec 30.
