Funeral prayers offered: Govt must bring killers to justice, says ASWJ

Islamabad: Funeral prayers of local leader of Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) Mufti Muneer Muawiya and his companion Asad Mehmood were offered in front of Parliament House here on Saturday.

The funeral prayers were led by Lal Masjid Cleric Maulana Abdul Aziz while hundreds of ASWJ workers participated in the prayers.

Ahl-e-Sunnat Wal Jamaat had earlier announced to offer the funeral prayers of its leader in front of an office of United Nations in capital city.

After negotiations with authorities, prayers were allowed to be offered at D-square near Parliament House and other key public institutions.

ASWJ Deputy Secretary General Maulana Masood ur Rehman Usmani addressing the participants said that government should immediately arrest the people behind these killings. Our patients should not be tested anymore.

He said that government knows the elements behind these killings. On this occasion he also levelled allegations against the shia sect and accused them of being behind the killings

He said that on Jan 10 a Seerat conference would be held in Karachi Company’s Abdullah Bin Masood Mosque in which Maulana Ahmed Ludhianvi would announce the future course of action .

After the address the protestors dispersed peacefully and the bodies were later shifted to Abbottabad, native town of deceased leaders for burial.
