Ghazi Abdul Rasheed murder case: former defence secretary willing to become witness

ISLAMABAD: Some most important disclosures are expected in Ghazi Abdul Rasheed and his mother’s murder case as former parliamentary secretary for defence, Major (Retd) Tanvir Hussain has urged to become witness in case.

According to media reports, former secretary contacted with advocate Tariq Asad and informed that he wants to present before court as witness from Haroon-ur-Rashid’s side.

He is considered as the most important witness of mother don-duo murder case. Major Tanvir also provided some sensitive information to leaders of Shuhada foundation.

It has been decided that son of Ghazi Abdul Rashid, Haroon-ur-Rashid Ghazi will write an application to Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Sikandar Hayat and chief of Joint Investigation Team (JIT), DIG Islamabad Khalid Khattak to record Major Tanvir’s statement at his house located in Rahim Yar Khan.

Major (Retd) Tanvir Hussain was parliamentary secretary for defence at the time of Lal Masjid operation and he was monitoring all matters related to ministry of defence and considered as Musharraf’s close one.

It is expected that important facts regarding Lal Masjid operation would surface after his statement.
