JI Karachi Chief Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman welcomed the governor at the JI Karachi Headquarters and presented him a set of Tafheemul Quran — the detailed description of the Holy Quran by JI Founder and religious scholar Syed Abulaala Moudodi.

Speaking on the occasion, Tessori thanked Hafiz Naeemur Rehman for his warm welcome and said that he will try his level best to act in accordance to all the recommendations by the JI leadership in connection with progress and development of the city as well as in order to mitigate the miseries of the city.

Talking about the K-Electric, he said that the power generation and distribution company didn’t act as per expectations. He assured that he would take both the province and the center onboard in connection with the KE. He vowed that the KE’s license will not be renewed if the company doesn’t put its house in order.

Talking about another demand by the JI, he assured that all the affected people, who lost their houses during anti-encroachment operations in the city, will be compensated with amount and alternative plots. He said that the issue of local bodies’ elections was subjudice, however, the Governor House will fully cooperate with the mayor office — no matter who would form the local government.

JI Karachi chief in his address expressed his hope that Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori will play his due role to resolve the issues pertaining to Karachi. On the occasion, he raised the issue of flawed results of the last census as well as the critical issue of power crises in the city.

He said that unfortunately no ruling political party took any measure to resolve the issue of census. He recalled that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf had notified flawed results of the 2017 census, reducing the population of Karachi to half as compare to the original number of citizens dwelling in the city.

The JI leader expressed his hope that Tessori will ensure a fresh census as soon as possible as per the formula that the individual lives in a city be considered the resident of the same city. He also demanded of the governor Sindh to play his role against the misconduct of the KE.

On the occasion, the JI leader assured Tessori of the party’s full cooperation under the legal, constitutional and democratic ambit for the progress and development of the city.
