Govt to add 5789 mw power till 2016

ISLAMABAD: The government is working a plan to add more than 5789 megawatt power through hydel resources by the end of 2016.

Sources told media that government is working on construction of five hydel projects that would add more than 5789 mw electricity into the national grid by 2016.

The sources said gigantic Diamer Bhasha dam on Indus rive would add 4500 megawatts mw, Golan Gole in district Chitral 106 mw, and Neelum Jhelum hydro power project would add 969 megawatt.

The sources further appraised that construction of Dubair Khwar hydropower project is continued at right bank tributary of Indus river that add 130 mw into the national system while 83.4 mw would be added by 2016 thorough Kurram Hydro power project.
