ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that Frontier Corps Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has played a singular role in ensuring security both within the country as well as along Pakistan’s 1200-km long international border and said the government will do everything to address the problems being faced by this national force.

The Minister said this while talking to Inspector General (IG) Frontier Corps (FC) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Maj. General Ghayur Mehmood here on Saturday.

The IG briefed the Minister about the sacrifices made by the officers and jawans of the FC over the last few years in the fight against militancy.

He said so far 1009 officers and other ranks of this force have embraced shahadat while 2979 of its personnel got injured in various operations against militants. Even now, he said, the force is geared to lay the last drop of its blood in the service of Pakistan.

Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan complimented the IG and his force for their acts of bravery over and above the call of duty.

He said it was in the same context that he had enhanced the allocation of budget for compensation to the next of kin of shuhada. The Minister also promised to make every effort to enhance the operational capacity and improve the living environment of the fighting force.

The Minister reiterated that those fighting for the motherland deserve our highest respect and acclamation and no stone will be left unturned to facilitate the working environment of FC.
