Govt working on new Hajj policy

ISLAMABAD: The government has started preparations for the new Hajj policy‚ which will be finalised after incorporating input of the stakeholders.

State-run radio Sunday reported that the agreement for Hajj 2014 would be signed with Saudi Arabia this month.

He said the number of Pakistani Hujjaj is likely to remain 143‚368 as the maintenance of the Grand Mosque still continues.

The intending pilgrims would be provided uniform transport and residential services and the category system will be abolished.

Half of the Hujjaj would return to Pakistan from Madina Munawara and Jeddah.

This year Hajj group organisers would be awarded 15 hundred additional quota apart from their 50 percent share as per agreement signed with them last year.
