LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hassan Chohan on Monday said a three-member medical board has been constituted for Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Muhammad Hamza Shahbaz Sharif and he will be treated at a government hospital.

The provincial minister said in his statement that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is making futile attempt to do politics on Hamza Shahbaz’s health

Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said, “Expert doctors and professors will examine the PML-N leader and the decision to shift him to a government hospital will be made afterwards.

“PML-N’s demand to shift Hamza Shahbaz to the Ittefaq Hospital or Raiwind palace is against the constitution and the law. The opposition leader in Punjab will be provided complete medical care.”

Earlier on Monday, the Punjab government had rejected PML-N request to shift Hamza Shahbaz – who has contracted coronavirus – to the Ittefaq Hospital from the Kot Lakhpat Jail.

PML-N deputy secretary Ataullah Tarar had written a letter to the Punjab chief secretary and requested to move Hamza Shahbaz to the Ittefaq Hospital from the Kot Lakhpat Jail on health grounds.
