ICT admin all set to kickoff anti-polio drive from Jan 20

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has finalized elaborate arrangements for carrying out three days anti-polio drive in the rural areas of federal capital from January 20, 2014.

According to reports, District Health Department Islamabad has constituted 385 teams to administer anti-polio drops to as many as 127,249 children in the rural areas and stringent security would be provided to polio teams.

Progress of polio teams would also be monitored so that no any child remain deprived from polio drops and 67 area In-charges of 12 union councils would be supervising the performance of polio teams.

The health department has also set up 32 fixed points and 17 transit points in the rural areas for the purpose of administering anti-polio drops to the children.

338 mobile teams will be visiting house to house in the rural areas.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Mujahid Sherdil has directed the district health department and polio teams to ensure 100 per cent coverage against polio and he will personally administer each team’ progress on daily basis.

Assistant Commissioners and Magistrates would also submit performance reports of polio teams to DC Islamabad after monitoring them on daily basis.

DC Islamabad directed District Health Officer (DHO) and polio teams that no stone should be left unturned to make the campaign successful and no negligence would be tolerated in this regard.
