ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice to IG Islamabad on the contempt of court plea on the matter of re-arresting PTI leader Shehryar Afridi despite court's orders.

The contempt of court plea came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by justice Arbab Tahir.

Justice Arbab Tahir issued notice to IG Islamabad.

The counsel for Shehryar Afridi said his client was again arrested despite court's orders. My client is also not being presented in the court.

IHC directed the state counsel as to why Shehryar Afridi has not been presented in the court so far. Give reply till tomorrow.

Sher Afzal Murawat counsel for Shehryar Afridi said the petition may please be wrapped with directive today. Hearing of central case will take place tomorrow. Shehr Yar Afridi has been kept in death cell despite your orders. You had given verbal order to take him out from death cell. Please issue the written order.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir remarked how can it be possible that our order has not been complied with. We are not disposing of contempt of court case.
