IHC directs president high court journalists association to file recommendations of journalists within two weeks

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed president High Court Journalists Association to file recommendations of the journalists within two weeks.

The petition filed by the High Court Journalists Association on protection of journalists rights came up for hearing before a single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) Aamer Farooq Tuesday.

Umar Ijaz Gillani counsel for high court journalists association, Adil Aziz Qazi advocate counsel for PFUJ and Azmat Bashir Tarar assistant attorney general from federation side appeared in the court. President High COURT Journalists Rizwan Q azi and others also appeared in the court.

The CJ IHC remarked according to his information work is being done about this amendment.

The counsel for PFUJ told the court yes sir it is as such.

The counsel for High court journalists association told the court we will soon submit recommendations from our side.

The court remarked what privileges and facilities are provided to Newspapers employees which are not provided to electronic media.

Umar Ijaz Gilani told the court there is a process to remove Newspapers employees from the jobs. Wage Board award is also given to them. The journalists have to provide their recommendations so that they could be put in draft.

The hearing of the case was adjourned till the last week of January.
