ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) while issuing notice in contempt of court case for not producing Shehryar Afridi in the respective court despite court's orders has sought reply from the respondents till June 15.

IHC summoned police investigation officer on June 15.

The case came up for hearing before a single bench of IHC led by Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir Friday.

The court inquired why the court's orders were not complied with. As to why contempt of court proceedings be not initiated.

It was requested in the petition that police did not present Shehr Yar Afridi in any court till June 07 despite court's orders. The court should initiate contempt of court proceedings against the police. The court had ordered to present Shehryar Afridi in the respective court till June 07. The court had indicated to initiate contempt of court proceedings in case of non compliance of its orders.

High court had declared district magistrate order regarding detention of Shehryar Afridi transgression of powers and illegal.

High court had ordered Shehryar Afridi will be considered arrested in the criminal cases which were earlier registered.

High Court had ordered that investigation officer will present the petitioner before the magistrate in the cases registered against Shehryar Afridi.

The court while issuing notice has sought reply from the respondents till June 15.
