IHC issues notice to respondents on petition against not arranging meeting of Suleman Akram Raja with PTI founder

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notice to the respondents on contempt of court petition for not arranging meeting of Suleman Akram Raja with Imran Khan in Adiala jail despite court's orders. The court while summoning interior secretary, Adiala jail superintendent and other concerned authorities has sought reply from them.

Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir took up Suleman Akram Raja petition for hearing Tuesday. Suleman Akram Raja appeared in the court in person. The counsel took the plea during the hearing of the case that his meeting was not arranged with PTI founder on Tuesday despite court's written orders.

He told the court SHO Aizaz did not acknowledge court's order. Therefore, court should send deputy registrar judicial with him. Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir remarked court will initiate proceedings as per law. The court directed Assistant Attorney General (AAG) to look into the matter related to meeting in jail.

The judge remarked if Suleman Akram Raja cannot meet Imran Khan in jail then how will he assist the court in twitter X case. The court while summoning AAG on rostrum inquired why the meeting was not arranged despite court's orders. AAG took the plea he would inform the respective authorities again. The court while issuing notice to all the respondents adjourned the hearing of the case. The next date of hearing will be issued in written order.
