ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to owners of CNG stations on their petitions seeking vacation of stay against reopening of CNG stations.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui took up the petitions seeking abolition of stay order against reopening of CNG stations for hearing Monday.

The court while maintaining the stay order adjourned the hearing of the case till January 3.

Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui remarked “ At least 50 million to 70 million rupees are spent on installation of one CNG station and 60 to 70 families depend on it in terms of their livelihood. OGRA was sleeping when licenses were issued in abundance.

He further remarked “ licenses were issued on the recommendation of political figures at that time and now it is being said that gap has widened between supply and demand. Did Sui Northern Company challenge a single license, he inquired.

He observed “ maintaining balance between the government and people is job of the court.

IHC had ordered for reopening the CNG stations for 3 days a week.
