ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court has summoned owners of CNG stations to appear on Thursday in connection with review petition filed by the government, challenging restoration of previous gas supply schedule.

Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi took up the petition filed by Ministry of Petroleum.

During the proceedings, federation’s lawyer Khawaja Farooq argued that the country was faced with gas shortage in winter season, and restoring gas supply to CNG stations would badly hurt domestic consumers, praying the court to dismiss relevant stay order.

On this occasion, Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi remarked the court couldn’t dismiss its stay order, and summoned owners of CNG stations on Dec 26 to hear their opinion.
