ISLAMABAD: The re-hearing regarding stopping the jail trial of the cipher case in the Islamabad High Court will be held on Monday (today). The Supreme Court (SC) has given a stay order regarding the jail trial. Islamabad High Court (IHC) will hear this application again at 11 o'clock. It should be noted that Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb has remarked that the death penalty can be imposed according to the section in this case, the Attorney General smilingly replied that yes, but I don't think the death penalty should be imposed. Last week, on Thursday, a hearing was held on the intra-court appeal against the jail trial of Co-Chairman PTI and Judge appointment. Lawyer Salman Akram Raja appeared on behalf of Chairman PTI, Attorney General Mansoor Usman Awan, Additional Attorney General Manwar Dogal also appeared. FIA Prosecutor Zulfiqar Naqvi, Special Prosecutor Shah Khawar and Rizwan Abbasi also appeared in the court. Sisters of chairman PTI and daughter of Shah Mehmood Qureshi were also present in t he court room. Salman Akram Raja said that after the last hearing, he went to Adiala Jail from the High Court. It took 3 hours to reach the court room from the jail door. The Attorney General said that Raja Sahib gave arguments, I will try to satisfy the court on the questions, first I will assist the court on the issue of admissibility of this application. Attorney General referred to the Chief Justice's decision on the bail application of Shah Mahmood Qureshi. Justice Mian Gul Hasan Aurangzeb said that he was in Attock Jail when the decision came on the petition of Chairman PTI. Chairman PTI has now been transferred to Adiala Jail, the situation has changed, in another case Chairman PTI appeared before a 2 member bench. Chairman PTI requested that he be given security to come to Islamabad, on the request of Chairman PTI, the state said that there is no need for security, your colleagues will tell you, let's go ahead, in this case which the death penalty can be imposed according to the section.
