Indecent videos case: Court grants bail to Dania Shah wife of late Aamir Liaqat Hussain

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) has accepted bail plea of Dania Shah widow of late Aamir Liaqat Hussain in the matter of sharing indecent videos of her husband on social media.

Announcing reserved judgment regarding bail plea of the accused Dania Shah Tuesday the court granted her bail against surety bonds of Rs 200000.

It was said in the order the investigations in this case remained of low level but the reason was not lack of capability of officers but perhaps there was lack of resources and manpower. Due to which the matter could not be investigated in depth.

It was further said in the decision the allegation of leaking video needs to be further investigated.

According to state counsel the accused had admitted to make video in an interview. There are two witnesses of this incident including camera man and interviewer. The subordinate court can give better decision in the light of statements of the two witnesses.

The court remarked that according to the accused the mobile phone which contained video was sold out. How strange it is that neither the FIA recovered the sold mobile phone nor it investigated the purchaser of the mobile phone.

The court remarked this fact cannot be denied the impact of violation of privacy on the woman is far more than the male. The criminals should be punished but the woman deserves for concession more than man at this stage of bail. This cannot be ignored as well that the accused is 18 years old girl and here marriage was under age marriage. .

The court stopped Dania Shah from giving interview or statements on social media or making direct contact with the witnesses of the case in any way.

The decision further said if the accused misused the bail then it will be cancelled.

The trial court will decide with reference to allegations against Dania Shah.
