ISLAMABAD: Inordinate delay in completion of development work in sector D-12 at federal capital has caused embarrassment among the allotees.

Capital Development Authority (CDA) sources said sector D-12 was opened in 1988. Contract for conducting development work in the sector was awarded in 2005. As per agreement development work was to be completed within 18 months but the same has not been completed even after lapse of 8 years.

Only 66 percent progress has been achieved in this regard and even possession of the entire sector has not been obtained so far due to lack of interest on the part of CDA. The construction of road stands suspended and only 85 percent work in this respect has been completed. Water supply, sewerage and drainage networks have not been accomplished so far.

Hundreds of allotees have built their homes but they stand deprived of basic facility like water supply. The allotees have demanded of chairman CDA to take personal interest in the matter and ensure completion of development work as soon as possible otherwise they will be forced to hold protest rallies.
