Int’l Conference on Challenges of Business Education next week: President to be chief guest

Islamabad: The National Business Education Accreditation Council (NBEAC) in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) is organizing a two-day International Conference on “Emerging Challenges of Business Schools in Pakistan” at Islamabad from January 27-28, 2014.

President Mamnoon Hussain will be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony .

Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP) are the main sponsors for the conference.

The conference, which is first of a series of four, shall identify critical steps needed to align education with business needs and recommend actions for the emerging challenges in the business education facing Pakistan. The aim is to bridge the gap between industry and academia and to reflect on the key purpose of business education in Pakistan.

The conference will provide a unique opportunity to share ideas on emerging challenges of business education, and discuss innovative ideas and solutions and will be addressed by national and international speakers.

Deans and Directors of prominent Business Schools, industry experts and entrepreneurs will be attending the conference which comprises of seven sessions with a blend of Industry and Academia related topics. An exhibition of over 40 stalls of the local industry and academic institutions will also be open to public at the conference .

In his message, Mr. Zia-ul Mustafa, President and Chief Executive, ICMAP, has congratulated NBEAC for organizing the first ever conference of Deans and Directors of the Business Schools, which he said will not only highlight significant role and contribution of business schools and professional institutes in Pakistan but will also be a big opportunity for all the stakeholders to discuss emerging challenges for them in the present day global business environment.

NBEAC is the national accrediting authority, established by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), to enhance the quality of business education in the country.
