Ishaq Dar stresses to adopt high standards in health sciences

ISLAMABAD: The Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar emphasized the Board of university of health sciences Lahore to maintain the highest standards in the field of medicines to provide affordable medical facilities to masses. Finance minister stated this chairing the 32nd Board of Governors meeting of University of Health Sciences Lahore. The meeting was also attended by Justice (R) Amer Raza Khan, Mehar Jewan Khan, Prof.Amer Aziz, representatives of the Government of Punjab and Secretary Law of Government of Punjab by special invitation. The Board approved with minor changes the budget of Rs.521.982 million and also appointment on contracts to various positions including faculty and administrative staff.

The Board confirmed the minutes of its last meeting and disposed off a heavy agenda apart from reviewing the performance of the University.

The Vice Chancellor Maj Gen (R) Prof Muhammad Aslam apprised the Board of the progress of the University during last one year with special focus on its flagship Kala Shah Kaku Campus on which the work was taken at hand. The Board was also apprised that the university had improved its overall rating in Higher Education Commission Quality Assurance and Research Ranking 2013 and was now at sixth position among all the higher education institutions in the country.
