Islamabad police force committed to provide protection, fool proof security

ISLAMABAD: The IGP has said that Islamabad police force is committed to provide protection and fool proof security, and this responsibility would be professionally accomplished in future with same zeal and zest.

He exhorted to use available resources with Islamabad police force honestly for the better output and also for decent attitude with officers and subordinates. He also directed to conduct search operation in various localities and ensure arrest of suspects.

SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan has said that providing relief to citizens was the responsibility of police and every possible effort should be made to provide protection to the lives and property of citizens as well as resolving their complaints on immediate basis.

He also stressed for effective steps to curb crime and activities of anti-social elements. He urged to adopt decent attitude for success in policing affairs and said complainants should be behaved in polite manner because this gesture can address their grievances to a maximum level.

Islamabad Police has arrested a total of 210 criminals during current year besides recovery of looted items worth Rs. 8 million, five cars, huge cache of contraband and weapons from their possession.

Police spokesman said on Tuesday, that regarding continuous efforts by IGP Islamabad Sikandar Hayat to curb lawlessness in Capitol City, he has directed heads of all police circles and zones to accelerate efforts against anti-social elements and ensure their arrest.

Special teams of Islamabad police worked are working hard to investigate the cases and special efforts were also made to arrest culprits involved in crime cases of heinous nature.

As such police teams arrested 34 persons over their alleged involvement in dacoity Incidents, recovering gold ornaments, cell phones, cash and lap tops from their possession; while thirteen car-jackers and snatchers were arrested, with five vehicles and four motorbikes impounded from them. These criminals have confessed to be involved in 13 incidents of car snatching and theft.

Likewise, 36 persons were apprehended for possessing illegal weapons and police recovered 32 pistols, five guns, two Kalashnikovs, and 300 rounds from them. A total of 36 drug pushers and bootleggers were arrested and 300 wine bottles, four kilogram hashish and 600 gram heroin were recovered from them.

In crackdown against absconders, Islamabad police nabbed 55 court absconders and 26 proclaimed offenders who were wanted to police for their alleged involvement in crime cases of heinous nature.

Meanwhile, 621 beggars were shifted to Edhi home, and 65 children sent to Child Centre. Police submitted challans of 153 professional beggars in courts.
