Jamaat-ud-Dawa to spearhead anti-interest movement

ISLAMABAD: Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JUD) has announced starting a movement against the morbidity of interest, on as grand a scale as the one regarding Khatam-e-Nabuwwat (finality of Prophethood-PBUH).

Announcing its schedule, Jamaat has said that every nook and corner of the Country would resound with the message, for which Ulema conventions, seminars would be held to heighten the public awareness, and pressurize government to avoid hoodwinking the issue by implementing the verdicts of the Supreme Court.

JUD’s Islamabad Ameer Shafiq-ur-Rehman also called for ending paper money as source of financial transactions in the Country, to be replaced with Islamic era coinage in gold and silver.

“But since government was being obdurate over following the prevalent global system of banking and finance, we have to raise this massive movement to compel government to submission”, he declared.

He predicted the sooner demise of capitalists system, citing similar earlier fates meted to equally powerful socialism and communism
