LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami has announced protest marches in front of Indian Embassy in Islamabad and all over the country on June 9 and June 10 respectively against India’s ruling party’s officials’ blasphemous comments about the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club on Monday, the JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim said the JI Chief Sirajul Haq will himself lead the march in Islamabad and also demanded the Pakistani government expel Indian diplomats from the country to send a clear message to New Delhi that anti-Islam acts of the BJI government were not acceptable to Pakistan.

He also read the JI Emir’s message to Muslim Ummah for boycotting Indian products on the occasion. Ameerul Azim said the Pakistani government reaction over blasphemy was as usual mild and against the expectations of people. The JI, he said, believed the fascist government of Modi had crossed all limits of Muslim victimization. Entry of Muslim girls were being banned in schools and colleges of Indian states and Muslims were not allowed to make gathering outside mosques even during Friday prayers, he said, adding India reported frequents incidents of mosques desecration by Hindutva mobs in past many years. Modi government, he said, now started direct attack on the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and his wives who are mothers of Muslim Ummah (the Umahatul Muslimeen-RA).

Thanks to Allah Almighty that Muslims in Arab countries took to the social media and some other Islamic states recorded that protest against the Indian acts but Islamabad was still making insignificant moves, he said. In overall scenario, he said, JI had decided not to make dependence on the government but itself go forwards to represent the emotions of the nation. He appealed to the people to show their full presence in the protests as it was duty of every Muslim to record his/her agitation on the issue which was matter of life and death for them. He made it clear that protection of the respect of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was not a political issue and the JI would never make compromise on it.
