JI condemns torture, baton charge on PTI workers by police, PPP activists

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi General Secretary Abdul Wahab has strongly condemned the torture and baton charge by police on the workers of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who staged their peaceful protest against the illegal closure of road adjacent to Bilal House Chowrangi.

In a statement issued here on Sunday, Abdul Wahab said that if the provincial government of PPP had implemented the court order, then the deteriorated situation was not created.

Criticizing the PPP government, JI Karachi General Secretary said that staging protests and demonstrations was a democratic and constitutional right of any party, adding that the attack on the workers of PTI by police and PPP activists had reflected the feudal mindset of PPP government.

On the occasion, JI Karachi General Secretary demanded of the authorities concern to release the apprehended PTI workers and implement the court orders.
