KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) General Secretary, Karachi Abdul Wahab has demanded of the Sindh Chief Minister and other officials concerns to ensure timely payment of the salaries to the employees of KMC, water board and fire brigade, so that they can run their livelihood in proper manner.

In a statement issued here on Friday, Abdul Wahab expressed his deep concerns over the delay of the salary payment to the KMC staffers, adding that the Islam teaches us to pay the remuneration of the worker on time.

Condemning the delay in the salaries, JI Karachi General Secretary regretted that the corruption and mismanagement are on the rise in the government institutions and billions of rupees are being spent on VIP protocols and other luxurious, but the employees of low grade are deprived of their legal rights in term of salary.

He urged the Chief Minister to play his due role in order to release the salaries of the employees, working in government and semi-government institutions.
