Judges parliamentary body seeks suggestions former CJPs on Feb 4

ISLAMABAD: Sub-committee of Judges parliamentary committee has called on some former chief justices of Pakistan (CJP) on February 4, 2014 in committee meeting to take suggestions from them in order to make the committee more effective and powerful.

Meeting of Sub-committee held in Parliament House here on Friday under chairmanship of committee convener, Farooq H. Naek.

President Supreme Court (SC) Bar Association (SCBA), Kamran Murtaza briefed the committee and put up recommendations regarding procedure of appointment of Judges.

Talking to media after meeting, Farooq H. Naek has said that the committee will decide after consultation whether the committee should be dissolved or composition of judicial commission should be changed.

He stated that committee will hold discussions with lawyers after taking recommendations from former Chief Justices about changing composition of judicial commission or to finish parliamentary committee.
