Judiciary to continue its role for supremacy of law: CJ

LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Tasadduq Hussain Jillani has said the struggle which legal fraternity and civil society underwent to restore the judiciary and uphold the supremacy of the Constitution is “a Classic Example” of people faith in constitution.

He said this while addressing Roll signing ceremony held here Saturday in Supreme Court (SC) registry.

CJP awarded enrolment Certificates among newly enrolled Advocates of the Supreme Court. He termed their professional achievement as a new responsibility to serve the cause of Rule of Law and Justice with full vigour and urged them to work hard and prepare well to assist the Apex Court in articulation of Legal and Constitutional matters.

He stressed on the need to work with same zeal and dedication to establish Rule of Law and Justice for the betterment of the country. The CJP emphatically enunciated the Apex Court’s special responsibility in connection with establishing Rule of Law, interpreting the Constitution, carrying out judicial review, arbitrating constitutional disputes, formulating judicial norms, guarding the Fundamental Rights of the Citizens and providing easy and accessible justice to the masses.
