ISLAMABAD: Justice Mazahar Ali Akbar Naqvi has challenged the second show cause notice in Supreme Court (SC).He has filed petition in SC praying that the show cause notice issued to him on November 24 be nullified.It has been said in the petition he was appointed as judge in Lahore High Court (LHC) on February 19, 2010. He was promoted as SC judge on March 16, 2020. If SJC has complaints against any judge these are told to the president. Campaign based on malafide intent was launched against him on February 16, 2023. Complaint was registered in SJC. Second show cause notice has been issued to remove defects in proceedings against him. In his preliminary reply he had highlighted defects in proceedings.SC has been requested to nullify SJC proceedings in the petition.It has been further said in the petition campaign based on ill intent against him is attack on judiciary. The details of his tax return cannot be given to any one. The record acquired illegally is not acceptable evidence.Federation has b een made respondent through law ministry in the petition. Complaints against him be heard in open court.SJC has issued two show cause notices to justice Mazahar Akbar Naqvi.
