Karachi police lost brave officer: Sharjeel

KARACHI: Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inaam Memon while paying tributes to martyred SP Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Chaudhry Aslam said that Karachi police have lost a brave officer.

“Residents of the metropolis salute him for his fearless fight and martyrdom against the terrorists,” said Memon.

Sharjeel Memon expressed deep grief and sorrow over sudden martyrdom of CID’s SP Chaudhry Aslam and paid tributes to his long services in the police department against the criminal elements and terrorists.

“Police have lost a brave police officer today but the courage of police department is still high and fully intact,” said the provincial information minister.

“The terrorists launch their attacks after complete homework and close monitoring of the attack side,” added Memon.

Chaudhry Aslam has been martyred in a powerful blast near civic centre, adjacent to Essa Nagri’s graveyard, with three more CID personnel.

He was on hit list of the enemies and criminals and escaped many lethal attacks in past but this time he fell victim of an explosives-laden vehicle that crashed with his car near Essa Nagri.

The terrorists used a large quantity of explosives in the attack and martyred police officer’s car has been shredded into pieces after the blast.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, Sindh Governor Dr. Ishratul Ibad, Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan have expressed grief over martyrdom of SP CID and condemned the incident severely.

The Sindh Chief Minister has taken stern notice of the incident and issued directives for a quick and through probe into the incident. Tehrik-e-Taliban of Mohmand Agency has claimed responsibility of the attack.
