Kashmiris firmly believe that Pakistan will never leave them alone: DFP Spokesman

SRINAGAR: Jammu Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party (DFP) while appreciating Pakistan's continued and consistent support for the Kashmiris' struggle for the right to self determination, has said that Kashmiris firmly believe that Pakistan would never leave them alone.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the DFP Spokesman Advocate Arshad Iqbal reiterated his party's demand that the Kashmir dispute must be resolved as per the UN Resolutions that guarantee the right of self-determination of the people of Kashmir. Terming Kashmir as an unfinished agenda of the partition, he said that Kashmiris believe that the two-nation theory, which was the basis of the partition plan of the sub continent in 1947, was still a valid and feasible solution to the Kashmir Dispute.

Reiterating the Kashmiris' unconditional love for Pakistan, he said, "The Kashmiri leadership, through a historic resolution adopted on July 19, 1947, has already determined the direction of their struggle and linked their future with the state of Pakistan".

In light of this historic resolution, the spokesman said that the people of the occupied Jammu and Kashmir under the banner of all Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) would continue their struggle to materialize this dream for which they have rendered matchless sacrifices.

The APHC, he said, is the real representative forum that represents the Kashmiris' aspirations. "We will continue our mission till the Kashmir dispute is resolved in accordance with the wishes of the Kashmiri people", the spokesman said. He said that Kashmiris strongly believe that the right to free life with no discrimination or interference from the rest of the world was their inalienable fundamental right.

He said that the principle of equality and justice demands that the people of occupied Kashmir should be given their right to choose their future in line with the UNSC resolutions that, besides acknowledging the Kashmiris' right to self determination, call for a referendum in the region.

Appreciating Pakistan's continued and consistent support of the Kashmir cause, the spokesman said that Pakistan's fearless advocacy of Kashmir has always been a strong source of strength and encouragement for the people of occupied Kashmir in their battle against Indian neocolonialism.

He expressed the optimism that Pakistan will never leave their Kashmiri brethren in any circumstances and will continue to support the Kashmir Cause. Kashmiris, he said, consider Pakistan and its defence forces as their saviours.

Lauding the supreme sacrifices rendered by the people of Kashmir, he said, "The day is not far away when the occupied territory of Jammu and Kashmir will become a permanent part of Pakistan as per the dream and vision of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and the people of Kashmir".
