ISLAMABAD: Defence minister Khawaja Asif has apologized in National Assembly (NA) on calling vice chancellor dacoit.

He said this during his speech in NA that his speech was against corruption and if teachers are hurt then he apologizes.

My target during my speech was corruption but I overstepped limits by calling vice chancellors dacoits.

Speaker NA said we have respect for teachers in our heart. I have invited vice chancellor in the house. We respect the teachers . I expunge the word dacoit from the proceedings, he added.

JI MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali said Pakistan is Islamic Republic Pakistan.

"A game was played in Karachi on yesterday and the democracy was assassinated. The majority was changed into minority. 30 elected members of a party were made hostage. Party with 9 lac voters lost the election and those who bag 3 lac votes became mayor, he said.

The speaker NA turned off the mike of Abdul Akbar Chitrali during the speech.
