Khyber Agency blast leaves 9 dead, 4 hurt

Peshawar: At least 9 people including women and children were killed in a suspected planted bomb blast in Khyber Agency‚ tribal agency borders with Afghanistan, officials said on Monday.

According to Political administration, explosive device went off in remote Tirah Valley’s Bara area. Four other people were wounded in powerful blast occurred in a Hujra (compound) near a mosque in Bara Akakhel area of Tirah Valley in Khyber Agency.

The blast occurred during Islamic Dars (preach) was underway in Hujra. Women were also participating in preach. Local residents in the area come for rescue, wounded were shifted to nearby hospital. Security forces also rushed to the scene and cordon off whole area. According to official sources‚ the explosives were placed in a house.
