KPK Gov to improve the training of counter-terrorism police

PESHAWAR: The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) is mulling over to hire the services of specialized international security agencies to review and improve the training of counter-terrorism elite police of the province.

On Friday, Chief Secretary KPK Muhammad Shahzad Arbab held a meeting with the representatives of international firm naming Cubic Defense Systems which has been providing trainings to Saudi, UAE, Jordan, Singapore and US police for this purpose.

Participants were briefed in detail about the services and how the KPK counter-terrorism elite force can be further trained on the multiple integrated laser engagement system (MILES).

It was informed to firm that KPK Government wanted to bring the capabilities of its police force on a par with those of the developed countries in rescue, operation, combat, bomb disposal, IEDs handling and intelligence.

Therefore, it was decided that the firm’ representatives will first conduct training assessment of the KP police by reviewing their training manuals and facilities and soon come up with a proposal for further improving their such trainings.
