Laptop thieves arrested

ISLAMABAD: Margallah police Islamabad has arrested two persons for their alleged involvement in stealing laptops and other valuables from the vehicles parked in various markets, a police spokesman said.

According to details, SP (Saddar) Jameel Ahmed Hashmi took serious notice of theft of laptops and other valuables from the parked vehicles and
constituted special team under supervision of SHO Margallah police station Inspector Khalid Mehmud Awan, ASI Shakeel Ahmed, Head Constables Mushtaq
Ahmed, Shakeel Ahmed to trace thieves.

This steam started special vigilance in various parking lots of markets and public areas and succeeded to arrest two persons identified as Shahid Iqbal alias Don and Talal alias Tali residents of `Tench Bhata’ Rawalpindi.

Police team recovered seven laptops and rented car from them.

The nabbed persons confessed their involvement in 13 such incidents and said they used to park their car near other parked vehicle having laptops or other valuables and took them away after getting opportunity. Cases have been registered against them and further investigation is underway. SSP Islamabad Muhammad Rizwan has appreciated this overall performance and announced cash prizes and commendation certificates for members of police team. He has also directed all police officials to enhance patrolling as well as vigilance in their respective areas and curb activities of criminal elements.
