LHC dismisses petition against putting Nawaz Sharif picture on kisan card being withdrawn

LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has dismissed the petition against putting Nawaz Sharif picture on Kissan card being withdrawn. Justice Shahid Karim of LHC took up for hearing petition filed by citizen Mashkoor Hussain. The counsel for the petitioner said Supreme Court (SC) has forbidden from such personal publicity several times. You can not make publicity out of public funds. The official hand out issued by government of Punjab is attached with it. The counsel for Punjab government said nothing is being done such like and the petition has come before time. The court remarked if government of Punjab does so then you can file the petition again. The citizen had taken the plea in the petition Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz has approved kissan card with the picture of Nawaz Sharif. Public funds cannot be used for personal publicity. Therefore, putting Nawaz Sharif picture on Kissan card is violation of law and constitution. Using national exchequer for personal publicity is violation of Supreme Court orders too. The petitioner had requested the LHC to stop Punjab government from issuing kissan card with the picture of Nawaz Sharif besides recovering from Nawaz Sharif the expenses incurred on putting Nawaz Sharif picture on kissan card. The court should order for stopping the printing of kissan card till final decision.
