LHC reserves judgment on petition seeking recovery of PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid
LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has reserved judgment on the petition seeking recovery of PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid.
The petition came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Safdar Salim Shahid here Saturday.
The petitioner took the plea Dr Yasmin Rashid is cancer patient.
The court inquired do you want to get conduct proceedings on medical grounds on this petition.
The petitioner said Chief Justice LHC has suspended notification regarding detention of this nature.
The counsel for petitioner requested the court to issue order for producing Dr Yasmin Rashid immediately in the court.
The court inquired from the state counsel are there evidence against Dr Yasmin Shahid that you issued notification of her detention. Where is report under which notification was issued.
The state counsel said Dr Yasmin Rashid is president of PTI central Punjab. She remains present in all political activities despite being sick. Had she not participated in political activities then orders for her detention would not have been issued. Things are there in law for ailing accused. Video evidence are available in respect of Dr Yasmin Rashid. She is asking people to go to Corps commander house.
The court remarked the incident took place on May 09 and you issued detention order on May 12. You should have got registered FIR instead of detaining her.
The state counsel said had we lodged FIR forthwith even then this thing would not have stopped. Dr Yasmin Rashid was leading band of thousands of armed persons.
The court reserved judgment on the petition regarding recovery of Dr Yasmin Rashid.
