LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought relevant documents from the counsel of petitioner in the petition filed against the matter of presiding over the administrative meeting of Punjab government by PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif.The petition filed by citizen Mashkoor Hussain came up for hearing before single bench of LHC led by Justice Muzammil Akhtar Shabbir Thursday.The counsel for petitioner said Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz jointly presided over meeting in Punjab. Nawaz Sharif holds no public or administrative office. Therefore, the court should restrain Nawaz Sharif from presiding over meeting at administrative level.The court remarked you should present official documents related to the meeting. There are no signature of any one in the press release. You should present official documents.The counsel for the petitioner sought time to present official documents.The court later accepted the plea of the counsel of the petitioner for adjourning the hearing.It is pertinent to mention here the act of presiding the administrative meeting of Punjab government by Nawaz Sharif was challenged in LHC.The petition was filed through Nadim Sarwar advocate making Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz respondents through principal secretary.The petitioner took the plea Nawaz Sharif is neither minister nor chief minister and he holds even no administrative post. PML-N Quaid cannot preside over any meeting at administrative level.The petitioner requested the court Nawaz Sharif be stopped from presiding over administrative meetings.Nawaz Sharif had presided over 3 administrative meetings of Punjab government two days earlier.Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz was too with her father Nawaz Sharif during these meetings in Chief minister office.After meeting it was said in official hand out that Nawaz Sharif had issued directives to ministers and others in connection with different projects of infrastructure including under ground train, Metro bus, farming commun ity welfare, electric bikes for the students and Ramazan Relief package.
