Local Taliban leader arrested in Karachi

Karachi: Heavily engaged in an intensive operation against criminals, Karachi police has caught a key Taliban commander in the city, officials said on Tuesday.

Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of the city police has raided and arrested a local head of Tehrik e Taliban of Pakistan.

The raid was made at a suburb area of Karachi, the largest metropolis of the country, Sarjani, on a tip about the presence of highly wanted culprit, Abu Hamza.

According to the police officials, they have recovered three pistols, mobile phones and motorcycle from possession of the terrorists.

The arrested TTP leader and other two accomplices were wanted in different cases including bomb blasts, kidnapping, extortion and police encounter.
