LOK VIRSA plans to celebrate Quaid-E-Azam’s Day, Christmas

Islamabad: Maintaining its previous tradition, the National Institute of Folk and Traditional Heritage (Lok Virsa) is planning to hold a number of special programmes here at Shakarparian coinciding with the forthcoming Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas celebrations.

Executive Director, Lok Virsa informed that a photographic exhibition depicting life and contributions of the founder of Pakistan Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah will be organized in collaboration with Directorate of Electronic Media & Publications (DEMP) at Pakistan National Museum of Ethnology “Heritage Museum”. It will open on 24 December with a prestigious ceremony and continue till 26 December.

Other programmes scheduled for 25 December include flag hoisting at Lok Virsa complex in the morning, repeated performances by traditional drummers (*Dholis*) and musical shows by folk artists and musicians who will sing national and folk songs and pay tribute to the great leader in their song renditions. Apprising about Christmas celebrations, the ED elaborated that a congregation of Christian community is arranged every year at Lok Virsa to
express solidarity with them and to join them in their happiness. There will be a cake cutting ceremony at the Heritage Museum. Santa Claus will distribute gifts and sweets among children and interact with them to add flavour to their enjoyment.

In order to ensure maximum participation of visitors, Lok Virsa would grant fifty percent rebate on entry ticket of the Heritage Museum on the occasion of Quaid-e-Azam Day and Christmas. People from all walks of life must join hands with Lok Virsa by ensuring their full participation in the activities for the celebrations.
