Maintenance of Law & order is foremost priority of govt: PM

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that maintenance of law and order in the country is the foremost priority of the government.

Talking to a parliamentary delegation headed by Chief Minister Balochistan Dr Abdul Malik here on Tuesday, he emphasized the need for concerted effort to ensure maintenance of law and order.

Nawaz Sharif expressed deep concern over the kidnapping for ransom phenomenon and assured the delegation that he will take personal interest in recovery of ANP leader Arbab Abdul Zahir Kansi.

The Prime Minister said he is also concerned over the kidnapping of the sons of former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gillani and late Governor Salman Taseer.

He said he will direct heads of all intelligence agencies to make concerted efforts to recover them as soon as possible.

Chief Minister Balochistan extended complete support to the government’s counter-terrorism.

He sought assistance of the Prime Minister in recovery of Leader of Awami National Party Arbab Abdul Zahir Kansi and eradication of the menace of kidnapping for ransom in the province.
