Malala Yousufzai ‘impressed’ with achievements of Emirati women

DUBAI: Malala Yousufzai, the Pakistani school pupil and education activist, has praised the work of HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak and the UAE General Women’s Union (GWU), saying how impressed she was with the achievements realised by Emirati women.

The Pakistani education campaigner made her remarks during a visit today to the GWU’s premises, where she was welcomed by Noura Al Suwaidi, GWU Director, who took her on a tour of various facilities of the GWU including the Jewel Hall where she viewed local, regional and international awards and honours Sheikha Fatima has received in recognition of her support and empowerment of women.

Malala applauded the GWU’s vital role in serving and empowering Emirati women.

Malala has won numerous awards herself for her campaigns in favour of female education in her native Pakistan and across the globe.
