ISLAMABAD: Counsel of former president Pervez Musharraf Ahmed Raza Kasuri has said that preventing journalists from performing their professional duties is similar to imposing restrictions on media.

On Wednesday, while talking to media outside the special court Ahmed Raza Kasuri said, government is afraid of media now and the way it behaved with journalists is strictly condemnable.

He said, “I raised the issue of stopping of media from covering the case proceeding in court, after that registrar of special court came outside and solved the matter.”

He said, media tickers and breaking news have confused the government and Press Information Department (PID) because government wants to keep the Treason Case within the boundary of court.

The reason behind this act is to keep the world unaware from the proceedings of case, but no one can stop media from its professional duties, he concluded.
