SRINAGAR: Over 375 women belonging to Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been passing their lives since past 13 years without an identity.
According a report surface on the occasion of ‘International Women Day,’ 375 women from Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir have been passing their lives since past 13 years sans any identity there.
Those women were still deprived of the travel documents as well as their identity being citizens. They have not civil rights in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Moreover, the aforementioned women cannot come even back to Pakistan. These women had got married to Kashmiri youth belonging to Pakistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
In lines with the policy of government of India, these women had gone to Occupied Kashmir along with their husbands but after reaching there the government of India refused to accept them. Neither those were given travel documents nor could they come back to Pakistan.
These women said they were deprived all the facilities and had been incarcerated, resultantly numerous women had lost their mental balance as they could not go back to their homes in Pakistan.
They were of the view that at first the government of India gave them permission to enter the held valley and afterwards it deprived them of all their basic and democratic rights. “We are in intense mental stress as we have been kept away from our families living in Pakistan, they added.
“I have not lost courage and hopes to travel one day. I have seen the hardship here,” said a woman. “Some have committed suicide or lost their senses. Some have also been divorced [after arriving here]. They have nowhere to go. Many are struggling to make both ends meet and facing mental trauma. Even if I am left alone,” she added.
