Massive embezzlements, irregularities by NSC discovered

ISLAMABAD: The sub-division of Ports and Shipping Ministry, National Shipping Corporation (NSC) has been known to have committed gross embezzlements, irregularities.

Among such includes un-authorized sale of 48 old aircraft, purchasing 9 new from earned Rs 2 billion in return, while Port Qasim Authority (PQA), during the ministry of Nabeel Gabol has been known to have allotted trillions worth of 12000 acres of estate among favourites; which resulted in Nabeel’s termination from the ministry.

Even the new Ports and Shipping minister Kamran Michael has also known to have promoted one 3-year old grade-17 contract officer, Nauman Bashir Khan to geade-20 in one massively giant leap of favouritism. The issue is being asked to be investigated by a higher Court, who has been informed that Supreme Court had earlier ordered Nauman’s dismissal among 890 officials, on 19th Dec.

Opposition has also lodged its strong protests over illegal, underhand allotment of 95% plots in 13,770 acres of estate. The then minister Nabeel Gabol claims to have taken strong action against the elements who had formed dummy companies to grab plots, but was restrained and ultimately terminated from his ministry.

Meanwhile the Board authorities claim that they were autonomous in their decisions to purchase new planes without any further approvals.

When tried to be contacted over the matter, by the mobile phone of minister for Ports and Shipping failed to respond.
