ISLAMABAD: Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC) Balochistan Major General Muhammad Ejaz Shahid (R) said that militants, who attack on the forces, should not be called as “estranged Baloch”.

Speaking in the meeting of Senate’s Standing Committee on Interior, the IGFC said that the attackers on the forces are not estranged Balochs but militants.

“Local administration and politicians are with us in the day and are with the militants in the night”, he said.

He told the senate that as many as 360 security forces’ personnel were martyred during the last few years.

The IGFC lamented over the situation of the forces, saying they are serving the country in very horrible conditions and the government is cutting their budget and does not compensate with the families whose sons die for the country.

He further added that the forces recovered explosive material from politicians and arrested them but they get themselves freed from the courts.

Chairman of the committee said that ‘Raw’ is involved in the worst conditions of Balochistan. He further said that the forces need our support to improve the conditions in the province.

The committee also recommended not cutting the forces’ budget.
